NH Police Mock Illegal Marijuana Grower

NH police in Marlborough said they seized 25 marijuana plants at an illegal grow site.

MARLBOROUGH, NH — Marijuana was decriminalized in New Hampshire this year but it still remains against the law to possess and grow — especially on someone else's property. Marlborough police this week said they seized 25 marijuana plants at an illegal grow site on another individual's property. The grower has not been caught.

Marijuana decriminalization withstanding, "This doesn't mean you can grow 25 marijuana plants on someone else's property," Marlborough police said in a statement. "Using your fine-tuned horticultural skills to grow delicious organic tomatoes is much more rewarding and much more legal."

Officers used a weed whacker to cut the plants down and posted a sign at the property reading, "Sorry about your luck. Plants may be claimed, at the Marlborough Police Department. Please bring your photo ID."
