3 States Removed From PA Travel Quarantine List, Including Texas

HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania has removed three states from its travel quarantine list, including Texas and North Carolina. The third state to be removed since last week's update is Hawaii.

The list now includes 17 states.

Texas, which experienced a surge of cases in July, has been on the state's quarantine list since it was announced earlier in the summer.

Here is the current full list of states which Pennsylvania leaders have identified as "at-risk" due to a high rate of the virus. Those who travel there are recommended to quarantine for 14 days upon return:

  • Arkansas
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Nevada
  • North Dakota
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee

The state has been making weekly updates to the list.

Two weeks ago, North Carolina was removed, was soon after added back on, and has again been removed. California has been recently removed as well.

The original quarantine list, announced in early July, included 15 states.

Pennsylvania has had a total of 143,805 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Of those, 82 percent have recovered.

There have been a total of 7,862 COVID-related deaths in the state, after 25 new deaths were reported Saturday. Out of Pennsylvania's total deaths, 5,293 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
