WILDERVILLE, Ore. (KOIN) — A 55-year-old man was shot to death by Oregon State Police troopers responding to a domestic disturbance in rural Josephine County.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday near Wilderville, officials said. Shortly after arriving, troopers made contact with the man, and then quickly reported shots were fired and the man was down.

Robert Box was rushed to Three Rivers Medical Center but died soon after arriving.

No further information is available at this time. Multiple agencies continue to investigate the entire incident.
