District 5A-4 season preview

Defending champion: Skiatook
The Bulldogs rolled to the title going undefeated in district play and winning the championship for the third time in four years. The Bulldogs lost to eventual state champion Carl Albert in the state semifinals.
Returning stars
Grayson Boomer, TE, Collinsville
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior tight end is ranked No. 5 on The Oklahoman's Super 30 recruit rankings for the 2019 class and will be a part of Collinsville's offense this season. He is committed to Oklahoma State University.
Jayden Garner, WR/DB, Skiatook
The speedy junior is Skiatook's best athlete and provides big plays for the Bulldogs. He also is a kick returner and is a scoring threat every time he touches the ball. He is getting looks from Division I schools.
Cole Goodnight, OLB, Tahlequah
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior is the leader of the Tahlequah's defense and will be a three-year starter. He had 50 tackles last season and a team-best 6.5 sacks. He also had three interceptions last year, returning two for touchdowns.
Big question: Can Skiatook repeat?
If the Bulldogs are to win their fourth district title in five years, they will need to find adequate replacements in the offensive line where they lost four starters. The district championship could be decided Oct. 26 when Skiatook plays at Collinsville.
