KARE 11 (NBC) Announces New Co-Host of KARE Saturday

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN--(Marketwire - Sep 18, 2012) - KARE 11 Television, the NBC affiliate for the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, announced Rena Sarigianopoulos is the new co-host of KARE Saturday, joining co-host/meteorologist Belinda Jensen on the weekly two hour news show. The announcement completes KARE 11's weekend team. "Bel and Rena are sure to be a dynamic and engaging team for our community," said News Director Jane Helmke. The program airs live Saturday mornings from 8-10 a.m. Helmke also noted that reporter and radio host Lee Valsvik and gardening expert Bobby Jensen will continue to share in the fun and interesting activities throughout the Twin Cities on Saturday mornings.

Rena came to KARE 11 from Milwaukee where she spent four years as a weekend anchor and reporter. She also worked in Madison, WI, Dubuque, IA and Youngstown, OH. An Ohio native, Rena graduated from Youngstown State University.

In addition to KARE Saturday, Rena will continue reporting as well as co-anchoring the weekend evening newscasts with Blake McCoy, sports anchor Dave Schwartz, and meteorologist Jerrid Sebesta. Bel and Rena debut on KARE Saturday October 13.
