Culver's founded in 1984 in Sauk City and famous for its ButterBurgers, frozen custard, cheese curds and chicken sandwiches was the number one Fast Casual restaurant in the state. The survey also reported that Culver's also beat out Five Guys, In-N-Out Burger, Smashburger, Red Robin and Shake Shack for the best Fast Casual Burgers in Wisconsin.

"Although menu items such as cheese curds reflect its Wisconsin origins, Culver’s locations are sprinkled throughout much of the Midwest. Unfortunately for Northeasterners and West Coast folks eager to try the renown “ButterBurger,” the chain has yet to expand to either region," Elliptical Reviews noted.
