The Chicago Blackhawks (28-30-9) managed to secure a shootout win versus the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night and they hope that gives them a bit of a momentum boost heading into a big matchup versus the Dallas Stars (35-27-5).

On the blue line, Erik Gustafsson has had a breakout season, particularly in the offensive department. The defender has 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points.
Between the pipes, Cam Ward's knee issue will keep him out of this matchup. Corey Crawford has made 26 starts this season, posting an 8-15-2 record with a 3.40 GAA and .897 SV%. Rookie Collin Delia has a 6-4-3 record this season with a 3.48 GAA and .909 SV%.
The Stars are coming off a 4-0 blanking of the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night. It was their fourth-straight win.
Tyler Seguin leads the way in points with 61 (27G, 34A) in 67 games. Alexander Radulov is second on the team with a total of 54 points (20G, 34A) in 55 games. Jamie Benn is third with 46 points (25G. 21A) in 64 games.
In net, Ben Bishop and Anton Khudobin split time with Bishop posting the slightly better numbers. He has a .930 SV% with a 2.13 GAA, while Khudobin has a 2.59 GAA and .922 SV%.
SEASON SERIES:
This is the third of four meetings this season between the two clubs. So far, the teams have split with Chicago taking the first one 5-2 in Dallas back on Dec. 20 and the Stars winning 4-3 at the United Center on Feb. 24.
The season series will end on April 5 at the United Center.
LINEUP NOTES:
Crawford will start in net. Dylan Sikura enters the lineup, replacing John Hayden. Gustav Forsling is in for Slater Koekkoek on defense.
OPPONENT TO WATCH:
32-year-old forward Alexander Radulov is having a solid season, despite only playing in 55 games. He has 20 total goals this season and 54 points, placing him second on the roster.
Radulov recorded a hat trick in the team's 4-0 win over Colorado on Thursday.
