Crash involving police cruiser in south Tulsa shuts down 71st

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa police were responding to reports of a woman who was hit by a vehicle in south Tulsa when another car rear-ended a police cruiser.

Police say a woman was hit by a vehicle near East 71st Street and Riverside. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While police were clearing that scene, a separate vehicle rear-ended a police cruiser with its lights on. Police say the vehicle hit the cruiser hard enough that it then crashed into three other cars.

TPD has shut down 71st Street between Wheeling Avenue and South Lewis while they work to clear the area.

Injuries are unknown.
