Bernhard Langer is PGA Tour Champions Player of the Year

Bernhard Langer took home PGA Tour Champions Player of the Year honors this week after winning four times in 2016. The 59-year-old won two majors – the Regions Tradition and Senior Players Championship – bringing his career total to seven senior majors.

Langer also scored wins at the Chubb Classic and the Boeing Classic to make it 29 career victories.

“I’m thrilled to be voted by my peers as the Player of the Year,” Langer said in a release. “To earn the Jack Nicklaus Award six times is an incredible honor. The level of competition on PGA TOUR Champions is outstanding, and each year I’ve had to improve areas of my game in order to win consistently.”

The two-time Masters winner tallied 18 top 10s in 21 starts.
