When Kevin Rabatin chose his 10-year-old son Jaydon to be best man at his wedding, he thought he would avoid an embarrassing speech at his reception.

But he got the surprise of his life when the youngster got up, unfolded some notes and addressed the guests in Wilmington, Delaware.

He was nervous about what he might say, but the boy then stunned the room with a rousing toast that would make any dad proud.

Jaydon's speech was full of jokes and loving quotes about the bride, his stepmom Briana Rabatin, and had the audience in both hysterics and tears.

He started by saying: 'The day has come that this man is getting married. I'm not too sure how I feel about it.'

'Don't get me wrong. I love Brie. Isn't she the most beautiful bride? But this means I'm losing my bachelor buddy. We go waaaaay back. It's like I have known him since the first breath I took,' he went on.

In the clip, the boy talks of his similarities with his father and how his new stepmom has been able to fit in.

'We have never been the cleanest of guys together,' Jaydon added.

'Without Brie, I don't think we would ever have clean underwear or socks.'

But the speech did have a more sentimental moment when he said: 'I hope you two [have] nothing but true happiness together.'

'I look forward to watching you two grow old together. We have many new memories and adventures to make together, and I truly look forward to it.'

'There is nothing more important as a son than to see my dad happy. And that's what he is when he is with Brie. Thank you for making my dad happy.'
