Bond was set at $3,500 for a white man police think is connected to two killings of black men in Baton Rouge, La over the weekend.
Kenneth Gleason, 23, was charged Saturday (Sept. 16) with schedule I and III drug possession, however law enforcement didn’t have sufficient evidence to hold him for the killings they think he may be responsible for.
“We believe (the shootings) could possibly be racially motivated,” Baton Rouge Sgt. L’Jean McKneely said.
Despite bond being set, McKneely says Gleason is still a person of interest and are also exploring other possibilities.
McKneely said shell casings for each killing were found and Gleason’s car matched the description of what police were looking for. The lieutenant said police have collected other circumstantial evidence but couldn’t give any detail because the investigation is on going.
