The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship picture is starting to come together after Jimmie Johnson's victory on Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.

The six-time champion earned his ninth Ridgeway grandfather clock trophy. More important, the achievement permits him safe passage into the Championship Race next month at Homestead Miami Speedway. Three other drivers will join Johnson, either through victories over the next two events or on championship points. The final two races of the Round of Eight will take place at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway.
