Cake shop opens in downtown Oregon City

OREGON CITY -- Jan and Tom Wright and their daughter, Christi Ross, opened Wrightberry Cakes and Cupcakes at 820 Main St. This is the 13th business that has opened in downtown Oregon City this year.

The family outgrew their home-based business and decided on a downtown Oregon City location because of its convenient access to local and regional event venues. They specialize in wedding and other special occasion cakes with prices ranging from $150 to $2,500.

They've recently added cupcakes to the menu and plan to feature 20 different flavors of filled cupcakes available in two sizes. Cost is $3.25 for a large and $1.25 for a small.

The Wright custom cake resume includes a replica of the Western Oregon University at Monmouth's new residence hall, and customized creations for the Macy's Bridal Event at Clackamas Town Center, the Portland Bridal Show at the Convention Center, and the Nike's Tiger Woods Center for the Children's Cancer Association's Hero's Dinner.

They also had cakes pictured in the 2009 fall issue of "Portland Bride & Groom Magazine" and the November 2008 issue of "Portland Monthly" magazine.
