Public comment wanted on new City of Pasco logo concepts

PASCO, WA - The City and its consultant are seeking public comment via an online poll to gauge a preference for the City’s new logo.

A city logo is a visual representation to solidify a distinct city personality, promote tourism and business, and bolster a positive perception by inhabitants and the rest of the world.

The City of Pasco’s current logo and mark dates back to the 1960s, and while it represents a large part of the city’s history, Pasco has grown and flourished into so much more since then. The City needs a logo that represents what the community has become today. To accomplish this, Pasco has contracted with local marketing and design agency BrandCraft to design the City’s new logo.

Above all, the people and community make the City of Pasco what it is. This logo is not just the City’s logo, but everyone’s in the community. The public’s input is vital to the design of the new logo.

The online poll showcases three concepts for a new logo, based on received public input from previous surveys, public meetings, and Pasco community members who volunteered to be a part of focus groups. The online poll will have a review of these concepts, some of the thinking behind each design, and allow the public to rank the three concepts.

The poll results and previous public input will be given to the City Council for their decision on the new logo. The online poll will be available in English and Spanish until August 18 at www.pasco-wa.gov/logosurvey.
