UPDATE: Crash On 395S Is A Fatal; Traffic Is A Mess

One crash has closed Interstate 395 South; Montville Police report three crashes in addition on Route 32

UPDATE 3:10 p.m.: State police have just reopened 395, but all the secondary roads remain clogged with traffic.

UPDATE, 2:40 p.m.: Montville police have confirmed that there is a fatality in the  crash that has closed Interstate 395 southbound.

Police are detouring cars off 395 onto Route 2A and then Route 12.

Route 32 is clogged with traffic and at a standstill.

ORIGINAL: Connecticut State Police confirm that a crash has closed Interstate 395 between Exits 79 and 79A this afternoon.

Sources tell the Montville Patch that the accident involved at least one fatality. State police would not confirm that tip.

NBC-30 says one vehicle is involved.

Montville Police report three crashes this afternoon on Route 32. Two are three-car wrecks and one is a two-car crash. They are at Sandy Desert Road, Woodland Drive and Route 163.
