OXNARD, CA (KAUZ) - The Dallas Cowboys arrived in Oxnard, California one week ago for training camp and it has been a jam-packed week for sure.

Running back Ezekiel Elliot got an earful from a faithful fan as he looked lean, fresh and very focused.

The wideouts and defensive backs are setting the tone and are finding ways to stand out, including Mount Pleasant native and Baylor record-setter KD Cannon.

"Now just coming in here having a year to build on and see how the system is," Cowboys receiver KD Cannon said. "It's really going to help me out a lot.

"A big learning moment."

Tight end Geoff Swaim takes aim at claiming the starting tight end spot now that Jason Witten is gone.

Rookies Leighton Vander Esch and Connor Williams are drawing praises from their own teammates about being able to keep up.

And to think that was in the first week of practice and so was this.

"No, I never protest," Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said. "I never protest during the anthem, I don't think that's the time or place for it.

"Our policy is that you stand at the anthem," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "Toe on the line.

If the first week of practice is any indication,  it's going to be one heck of a ride during the regular season.
