A local high school football coach faces possible charges for an alleged sexual assault.

Fall Creek Police say Fall Creek Coach Joshua Tumm is scheduled to appear in court next week on charges of second degree sexual assault.

The police chief says the investigation did not involve any current students and at no time did information arise to suggest there was concern for any student in the Fall Creek School District.

Tumm is listed in the directory on the district's website as a 5th grade teacher at Fall Creek Elementary School.

Fall Creek School Superintendent Joe Sanfelippo released the following statement Tuesday around 3 p.m. :

While an investigation of a District employee is ongoing relating to off duty conduct, the employee has been placed on paid administrative leave. This does not mean we believe the allegations are accurate or inaccurate, we are simply giving the authorities time to investigate. Unfortunately, the fact that an investigation is ongoing may lead to speculation on social media. Please do not speculate. Allow the investigation to be completed.
