Miami-based restaurant Dirt signed a lease to open its first D.C.-area location at Ballston Exchange, a mixed-use development under construction in Arlington, Va., according to a press release from Jamestown, which is developing the project.

The health-conscious eatery, which offers vegan, vegetarian, omnivore and gluten-free dishes, signed a 10-year lease to open at 4121 Wilson Boulevard, according to a Jamestown spokesman, who said the deal closed in October. He would not disclose asking rents at the property.

Jamestown was represented in the deal by Kim Stein, while DIRT was represented by Jason Flippo, both of KLNB, according to the release. Neither broker responded to Commercial Observer’s request for comment.

Jeff LaTulippe, a co-founder at Dirt, said in a prepared statement that he’s excited to serve the local Arlington community as the restaurants breaks into the D.C.-area market.

Slated for completion at the end of this year, the 776,000-square-foot Ballston Exchange project will comprise two buildings—a 12-story structure totaling 587,036 square feet at 4201 Wilson Boulevard and an 11-story building spanning 184,548 square feet at 4121 Wilson Boulevard.

Other retailers that have signed on at Ballston Exchange include Bearded Goat Barber, Cava, Philz Coffee, Shake Shack and We, the Pizza, in addition to co-workspace provider Industrious, as Commercial Observer previously reported. Jamestown has yet to announce any office tenants.

According the release, Dirt is expected to open in early 2019.
