HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) – Commercial baker Hadley Farms Inc. says it’s moving its manufacturing operation and about 120 jobs from western Maryland to neighboring Pennsylvania.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the Washington Township Supervisors approved land-development plans for the relocation to an industrial park in Zullinger, Pennsylvania, on Monday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development says in a statement it offered the company a $250,000 grant and encouraged it to apply for $2.4 million in low-interest loans through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.

Hadley Farms was established in 1980 near Smithsburg, Maryland. The company makes baked goods for food service, fundraising and retail markets.

Vice President Chris DeHaan says company officials “couldn’t be happier” with their relocation.
