New Marketing Campaign set for 'White Bread and Mayonnaise' Lula Phine marks her publishing debut with the release of "White Bread and Mayonnaise" (published by Balboa Press in August 2017), a story of human frailty and resilience through a look at one man's life as he battles his demons.

The novel follows the story of one man from the rural American South and the challenges he encounters as a young boy through adulthood. He serves in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Marines, and eventually suffers from alcoholism, alienating his family and losing his wife to divorce.

He feels defeated. However, out of his greatest pain, came his joy - rediscovering the pure happiness of reuniting with family.

"My book has two parallel stories going on at the same time. One story is about the man and the other story is about the jar of mayonnaise. Their struggles are different but also the same," Phine shares. "The man and jar both experience not feeling wanted or loved. The person and the inanimate object have the same outcome in the end by feeling accepted and loved."

Inspired by her own family's experiences, "White Bread and Mayonnaise" aims to remind readers that although there may be struggles within a family, "at the end of the day, your family is your family and love can heal."
