Delta Education finalizes purchase of Educators Publishing Service.
Delta Education LLC (Nashua, NH), a unit of the Wicks Group of Companies (Nashua, NH) has completed the acquisition of Educators Publishing Service, Inc. (EPS; Cambridge, MA). No terms of the deal were given. EPS was represented by investment bankers Berkery, Noyes & Co. (New York).Founded in 1949, EPS provides standards-based supplemental reading instruction materials in North America. It is involved in the test-preparation market with its "Worldy Wise" series and produces the phonetics series, "Explode the Code." Delta said that EPS' recent growth has been a result of emphasis on reading instruction.
EPS president Nick Gaedhe said "we've enjoyed strong growth in our catalog business and now see the opportunity to sell district-wide adoptions using Delta's sales force." Delta publishes basal materials for science in secondary schools. Delta is also a catalog and direct seller of supplemental science and math print materials to schools as well as lab manuals, textbooks and professional development materials for secondary schools.
