Ten Inmates Charged In Kane Co. Jail Fight

The charges were filed earlier this week in connection with the March 5 fight.

KANE COUNTY, IL – Rising gang tensions contributed to a fight that broke out between ten inmates on March 5 at the Kane County jail, officials said. Lt. Patrick Gengler, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, told the Daily Herald that all ten have been charged in connection with the fight. No one was seriously injured, according to the newspaper report.

The following inmates were charged with felony aggravated battery or mob action in connection with the fight: Johnathan M. Cerritos, 23, of Carpentersville; Francisco J. Espinoza, 27, of Elgin; Michael A. Giacomino, 31, of Elgin; Jorge L. Guzman, 22, of Aurora; Luis S. Lopez, 25, of Aurora; Anibal M. Ramos, 21, of Aurora; Bennie R. Ross, 26, of Carpentersville; Jorge Soto Jr., 28, of Elgin; Dameian J. Totton, 18, of Aurora; and Jovan T. Young, 24, of Aurora.
