If the Orange wins its game, it would face the winner of No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 16 Nicholls in a second-round game Monday in Starkville.

This is the sixth season in a row that Syracuse has reached the NCAA Tournament. Last season, as a No. 8 seed, the Orange beat Iowa State before losing to UConn on the Huskies home court.

Two years ago, Syracuse pulled down a No. 4 seed and pushed all the way to the national title game before falling to Connecticut.

The Orange enters this year's tournament at 22-8. It went 10-6 in the ACC before getting upset by Virginia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament on March 1.

Syracuse's top wins this season include decisions over ranked foes Florida State, 76-69, and Duke, 68-65.
