Don is a nationally recognized expert in regional economic development, with a wide variety of work experience at the local, regional, state and national levels. With a unique blend of academic and practitioner experience, Don’s work has focused on how regions can leverage and complement their innovation institutions. Lead roles in strategic economic development initiatives has been a hallmark of his career, from serving a lead analyst on the statewide economic development strategy Investing In Pennsylvania’s Future in 1987, through work on the Regional Economic Revitalization Initiative, and key roles in the formation of Innovation Works in 1998, The Pittsburgh Digital greenhouse in 1999 and the Life Sciences Greenhouse in 2000. Don held the nationally unique role of VP of Economic Development for both Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh – the first such collaboration between unaffiliated universities to advance regional economic development. In 2009 Don became RIDC’s 5th President and has led the reformation of RIDC to establish it as the go to developer of real estate projects that support the public interest in Southwest Pennsylvania. In Pittsburgh, Don is active in a number of boards and community activities, including serving as Vice Chairman of the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County, Chair of the Greater Oakland Keystone Innovation Zone and on the boards of NAIOP Pittsburgh, Idea Foundry, City Lab, and the Steering Committee of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, as well as teaching in the Economic Development curriculum at Carnegie Mellon.

Pamela leads McCaffery interests’ Pittsburgh office. She is responsible for all aspects of the Development process. She manages and coordinates both internal and external disciplines, including architecture, construction, legal, leasing, marketing, finance, accounting, and is the face of the Development to institutional partners, community members and government entities alike. Pamela has been with the firm for 15 years. Ms. Austin’s projects include The Morgan at Loyola Station, Flair Tower, Roosevelt Collection (all Chicago), Lot 24 (Pittsburgh), and is currently leading the redevelopment of the Strip District’s Produce Terminal and 1600 Smallman redevelopments. Pamela also serves as a development consultant to Oxford Development. She recently completed the Yards at 3 Crossings and is currently collaborating on a new residential development at 5765 Centre Avenue. Prior to coming to McCaffery, Pamela ran a small business, redeveloped residential properties in Chicago, and worked for a venture capitalist. Pamela has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois- Urbana, a M.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and attended Harrington College of Design in the Master’s program for Interior Design. Pamela is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois and Pennsylvania, and is a LEED-AP BD +C. Pamela is a resident of the Cork Factory and serves as the Secretary of Strip District Neighbors. She enjoys hiking, camping, and biking the beautiful countryside of western PA with her partner Mike and dog Gunther, exploring new restaurants around Pittsburgh, and is an avid world traveler.

Brandon Snyder joined Al. Neyer as vice president of real estate development in 2015 after more than 10 years of working on the brokerage side of commercial real estate in Pittsburgh. Christopher Doerr, managing director, joined Walker & Dunlop Investment Sales group in November 2015. Mr. Doerr will be responsible for the origination and execution of investment sales and equity capital raise for multifamily assets in the Mid-Atlantic and will be based out of the Bethesda, Maryland office. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Doerr served as a senior managing director for five years at Cushman & Wakefield where he worked with the owners of institutional real estate providing disposition services for multifamily properties and land in the Washington, D.C. area as well as joint venture structuring, recapitalization, and equity placement. Justin Ackerman is a shareholder in the Corporate & Commercial Group of Babst Calland. He uses a creative, yet pragmatic, approach in his role as a trusted advisor to mid-sized corporations, closely-held companies, family-owned businesses and their owners. Additionally, Mr. Ackerman leverages his experience and education to provide a broad range of services including: general corporate representation, real estate services and transactions, business succession techniques and dispute resolution. Mr. Ackerman advises clients on aspects of corporate law such as choice and formation of entities, internal governance, mergers and acquisitions, and the negotiation and drafting of contracts. Marty Sweeney is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for M & J Wilkow, a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment and management firm. Mr. Sweeney joined M & J Wilkow in 1989 and is responsible for capital sourcing, acquisitions and dispositions as well as asset management for an expansive portfolio of office and retail properties throughout the country. In his 28+ years in the commercial real estate industry, he has been responsible for $1.5 billion of property acquisitions representing 10 million square feet of office and retail space spanning the country from San Francisco, California down to Miami, Florida. Mr. Sweeney is responsible for M & J Wilkow’s growing national portfolio, which currently totals 3.5 million square feet in Pittsburgh and includes the iconic Waterfront Shopping Center, Plaza at the Pointe Shopping Center in Robinson Township, Class A CBD office towers 11 and 20 Stanwix (also known as PNC Center), the 12-building 95-acre Penn Center East mixed-use complex, 420 Boulevard of the Allies, 275 Apex (located in Southpointe), and the recently acquired Miracle Mile Shopping Center in Monroeville. Brandon Nicholson is a founding principal of Nicholson Kovalchick (NK) Architects. He is passionate about reducing the impact of buildings on global climate change, utilizing his research and development projects to establish a cost-effective method to deliver net-zero energy buildings now. Jeff Deitrick, Executive Vice President and Broker of Record for Oxford Realty Services, Inc., has 25 years of brokerage experience focusing on office leasing for major downtown and suburban office properties. Jeff has participated in and closed over 800 transactions with a total value exceeding $500 million and exceeding 5 million square feet of space. Chris oversees legal affairs and human resources at Schell Games. Prior to joining Schell Games, Chris worked as Operations Counsel at Mylan, a leading generics and specialty pharmaceutical company, General Counsel and Director of HR at Guru.com, a global talent marketplace, and Corporate Associate at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, one of the nation’s leading law firms. Andrew Miller is a First Vice President within CBRE’s Brokerage Group, with a primary focus on leasing office space in and around Pittsburgh's Central Business District and a specialty of working with technology firms. Currently, Mr. Miller represents over 4.5 million square feet of office space for lease, including several high-profile Class 'A' office towers and active development projects. While primarily engaged in landlord representation, Andrew also works with tenants and sellers to achieve their real estate related objectives. In ten years at CBRE, Mr. Miller has successfully closed over 4.7 million square feet of commercial real estate transactions. Andrew was honored by the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors for completing the Office Lease of the Year Urban (Non-CBD) in 2011, Most Creative Deal of the Year in 2008 and 2010, the Suburban Office Lease of the Year in 2008, and the Most Adaptive Re-Use of the Year in 2009. Mr. Altman is a Shareholder and Director, and a member of SGK’s Corporate, Real Estate and Financial Services Groups. Mr. Altman specializes in counseling companies and individuals on a broad range of transactional matters, and has particular expertise in representing companies in connection with M&A activity, and owners/investor groups in connection with the acquisition, funding, operations and disposition of professional sports teams and commercial real estate.
