Grilled Cheese Championship, candlelight hike and more to do around Wisconsin

Chippewa Falls: Springfest. This celebration of Spring April 27-29 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds includes a classic car show, a 5K run, kids activities and live music. Tickets are $10 at the gate. See springfestchippewafalls.com.

Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Dodgeville: Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship. Enjoy free cheese samples, vendors, exhibits, live music and food trucks at this competition from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 28. General admission is free, but $35 VIP tickets allow you to taste some of the grilled cheese entries plus other goodies. See grilledcheesewisconsin.com.

Kewaunee: Food & Wine Fest. Parallel 44 Vineyard & Winery is teaming up with nine area restaurants to offer food and wine pairings at the winery from noon to 4 p.m. April 28. Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. See 44wineries.com.

Madison: Crazylegs Classic. Madison's spring tradition is back, with this year's 8K run/2-mile walk scheduled for April 28. The race follows a route from the Capitol to the 50-yard line in Camp Randall. Registration is $45 for the run and $35 for the walk. See crazylegsclassic.com.

Sheboygan: Spring Candlelight Hike. Go for a hike lighted by tiki torches at Kohler-Andrae State Park from 8 to 10 p.m. April 28. There will also be a bonfire and light refreshments. Pets are not permitted. See wiparks.net

Throughout Wisconsin: Work Play Earth Day. Earth Day events continue around Wisconsin with cleanups scheduled at Mirror Lake State Park on April 27 and Buckhorn, Copper Falls, Devil's Lake, Harrington Beach, Merrick, Perrot, Pike Lake, Whitefish Dunes and the Stower Seven Lakes State Trail on April 28.
