After taking a small price cut, a triplex penthouse in Edinburgh, Scotland, is now asking £1.95 million ($2.57 million).

The penthouse is situated on the eighth, ninth and 10th floors of the new Quartermile development, formerly the site of the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, said James Whitson, the listing agent from Rettie.

Mr. Whitson said the small price reduction last week from its original £2.15 million price in January was made in order to grab potential buyers’ attention.

“I know it’s £2 million, but that is incredibly good value on a global scale,” he said.

The home has two private terraces, one off the ninth floor living room and the other on the rooftop, which also has a hot tub. Mr. Whitson said the view to the south, specifically of Edinburgh Castle, from the roof terrace is unmatched.

“This is probably one of the best views looking straight at Edinburgh Castle,” he told Mansion Global. “Because it’s a new-build block that’s been built to this height that’s almost at the same height of Edinburgh Castle, there is no other building in Edinburgh that will give you this view.”

There are four bedrooms—all on the lowest level—and four bathrooms in the 3,296-square-foot flat. The two upper floors offer living and dining areas, and there are contemporary finishes and design throughout the home.

The owners purchased the penthouse in 2012 for £1.6 million, according to Scotland property records. Mr. Whitson said they have decided to sell because they are moving out of Edinburgh. The owners could not be reached for comment.

Quartermile offers underground parking and 24-hour concierge service, according to the listing. In addition to residential space, the development also has restaurants, offices and cafes.
Over the past year, Edinburgh’s strong market has helped Scotland see consistent annual price growth, topping both England and Wales each month since December 2017.
