NASCAR and Fox Media Group have extended their eight-year television contract through the 2022 season. Even with two years remaining on their current contract, the sanctioning body and the network wanted to take any uncertainty off the table by extending their agreement now. As part of the new deal, Fox will increase its digital rights to include “TV Everywhere” live streaming of the races it broadcasts.

“NASCAR has been in good hands and has enjoyed tremendous success the last 12 years, in large part because of our partnership with Fox,” said NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France. “We are thrilled to be able to extend our relationship in such a significant way for our track partners, race teams and millions of fans. This extension with Fox helps position the sport for future growth.”

Fox holds the rights to the first 13 Sprint Cup races, starting with the Daytona 500 and extending through the June race at Dover, Del. Fox also gets the pre-season Budweiser Shootout and, in its new partnership with Speed, the Daytona Duels, the Sprint All-Star race, the entire Camping World Truck Series schedule and practice and qualifying for the Cup and Truck Series races its broadcasts.

“We're happy to have worked with Brian and his team over the last few months to expand and extend our relationship for the most popular motorsport in the country,” said Fox executives Eric Shanks and Randy Freer. “NASCAR has been a staple at Fox for more than a decade and we consider it one of our signature sports. With our commitment renewed, we look forward to presenting NASCAR for many years to come.”

Fox Sports Media Group also gains the rights to live stream all Fox races, plus pre- and post-race coverage, race highlights and in-progress highlights to its events. This portion of the deal became available when NASCAR reacquired the operational, business and editorial control of its digital platform from Turner Sports.

Two months ago Fox announced plans to expand its coverage of NASCAR on its Deportes network. The nation's leading Latino sports network will carry six of Fox's 15 race broadcasts, including live coverage of the Feb., 24 Daytona.
