Things to do NJ: Bradley Beach ShowRoom, Toms River diner, Pride festivals

This weekend marks the return of some old favorite hang-outs, re-imagined and renovated, plus the beginning of a month of reflection and pride:

Beach Cinema in Bradley Beach is nearing a deal to be sold.

The ShowRoom in Bradley Beach | Movies

The much-missed Beach Cinema in Bradley Beach re-opens May 31 as The ShowRoom in Bradley Beach. On the big screen will be "Rocketman," a large-as-life biopic of Elton John that our reviewer, Alex Biese, very much enjoyed.

Now under the ownership of Michael Sodano and Nancy Sabino, proprietors of the ShowRoom Cinema on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park since 2009, the landmark in Bradley Beach will eventually become a two-screen theater.

Toms River Diner | Eat

After you shop at Kohl's, or return from a day at Island Beach, you're going to be hankering for grilled cheese, pancakes and other comfort food, right?

Well, Toms River, you have your diner back.

After a two-year closure, our food writer, Sarah Griesemer, reports that Toms River Diner re-opened under new ownership this week.

The diner, a fixture on the eastbound side of Toms River for more than 40 years, is now run by the owner of Holiday City Diner on Mule Road.

Jersey Pride | Festival

June is Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community, and Asbury Park will be the place to kick it off in style.

If you didn't get tickets to the Equality Ball at Asbury Lanes, we're sad to tell you it's sold out (but happy for the one who will be there!). You can still celebrate, however, by attending the Pride Parade and the Paranormal Pride Parade this weekend, capping it off with a drink at Georgie's. Alex Biese has all the details here.
