MOAB — Three men who were arrested in Arizona in connection with a murder in Moab have been transported back to Utah, police said Thursday.

Irving Martin Verduzco-Armento, Jaime Flores-Solis and Jorge Hernandez were taken from Flagstaff, Arizona to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office jail Thursday, according to an emailed statement from Moab Police Chief Jim Winder.

The three were arrested Oct. 31 near the Navajo Nation in Arizona after a 100-mile chase.

The arrests were in connection with the Oct. 28 killing of 30-year-old Edgar Luna Najera, of Moab. Police say Najera was shot twice in a mobile home at 250 Walnut Lane in Moab.

Verduzco-Armento, who also goes by several other names, faces a murder charge in the case. Police believe Flores-Solis and Hernandez are also connected to the killing and may have helped Verduzco-Armento leave the area after the shooting of Luna.

An initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday for Verduzco-Armento and Flores-Solis in 7th District Court in Moab, according to court records. It’s not clear when Hernandez’s first court appearance will take place.
