Incredible survival: He landed on his feet without suffering any noticeable injuries
His mother Jessica Hayes was shampooing her carpet and had moved her couch to the wall when Dylan climbed onto it to talk to his downstairs neighbor through the window.
‘My mom was cleaning our fridge out, and all of a sudden I hear her screaming, “Dylan just went out the window!”’ Jessica said.
Dylan tumbled out of the third-story window, did two somersaults in the air, and landed on his feet on the rocks below, CBS4 reported.
‘I heard a crash, and the next thing I know I just saw a blur,’ neighbor Pat Roush told the local news affiliate channel.
Within seconds Hayes ran down the stairs in a panic.
‘I was terrified,’ the boy’s mother said. ‘I didn’t know what I was going to see when I got down to the ground floor.'
It turns out, the screen Dylan broke through suffered more damage than he did.

Dylan was hospitalized for 20 hours and was given a neck brace as a precaution, but the 4-year-old suffered no noticeable injuries.
Hayes said she hopes other parents listen to her story and always remain alert to the potential dangers their children face.
The mother said she and her son have since moved out of their apartment complex and that they are living with a relative as she looks for a new place on the ground level.
‘It’s gotten easier since it happened two weeks ago to not blame myself,’ Hayes told CBS4. ‘I wish the danger would have crossed my mind, which it didn’t.’
