The latest target of OurMine, the organisation that previously hacked the social media accounts of high profile tech CEO’s like Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai- is the CEO of twitter, Jack Dorsey.
“After the hackers posted a few benign video clips, a tweet went up at 2.50 am ET saying “Hey, itsOurMine, we are testing your security’ and linking to their website. That tweet was quickly deleted,” technology website Engadget reported.
The tweet also included a now deleted short clip on entertainment network Vine.
“All of the OurMine messages posted to Dorsey’s account (which, as of 3.25 am or so appears to have been scrubbed of the hackers tweets), came through from Vine,” the report noted.
The CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer and venture capitalist Vinod Khosla also saw breaches to their accounts, both of which were attributed to OurMine
OurMine, a hacker group that themselves rebranded as a security firm offering superior cyber-security services and guidance, recently hacked the social media accounts of YouTube gamer PewDiePie, ex-twitter CEOs Evan Williams and Dick Costlolo, Hollywood actor Channing Tatum, Amazone Vice President and CTO Werner Vogels, Writer Matthew yglesias, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, Award winning American blogger Ree Drummond and Businesswoman Randi Zuckerberg.
According to the report on technology website TechCrunch, hackers might have used malware to collect more than 32 million Twitter login credentials that were being sold on the dark web.
Recently, popular career-oriented platform LinkedIn notified about data breach and alerted its 400 million members to stay safe.
