The Fairport Village Landing Mall has a new look. The facade to the mall is now complete, giving a fresh appearance to several businesses in the plaza. The Red Bird Market is an independent grocery store located in the heart of the plaza with a focus on local. A favorite stop for bargain crafters at the plaza is Crafts Bits & Pieces. It is a nonprofit selling craft items that help the Fairport and Perinton Senior Living Council. You can score some major deals on craft items from yarn to scrapbook materials.

Also in the plaza is Anything Goes Consignment Boutique. Fairport is known for its many consignment shops each with a different flair. Anything Goes offers a nice selection of designers such as Chico's, Eileen Fisher as well as formal wear. The shop is closed for summer vacation and will reopen on Aug. 1.

Fairport Village Landing has a new look

Across the street at Packett’s Landing, there’s a new spa. Dou Dou Foot Spa at 280 Packett’s Landing offers reflexology and other massages with several grand opening specials such as $33.99 for an hourlong foot massage. The interior is quiet and clean. I enjoy getting foot massages — after receiving one I feel like I can run a marathon. Well, maybe a 5K.

New on Monroe

Crepe N'Go at 651 Monroe Ave. now offering sweet fruit crepes with ice cream for $7.99.

Crepe N’Go at 651 Monroe Ave. in Rochester has a new owner and a new menu. Sai Tip took over the operations after having working at area Asian restaurants as a chef and he’s putting his own mark on the place. In addition to the Chinese crêpes it’s known for, Tip is offering the French crêpes with a special of strawberry or banana crêpes with ice cream for $7.99. He has also added other Chinese street foods to the menu such as Lanzhou beef noodle soup that’s spicy with turnips for under $10. And desserts such as mango sticky rice for $4.99.

The restaurant is known for its Chinese crêpes with fillings of your choice from meats to tofu with fresh lettuce, tomato, cilantro and scallions with a variety of sauces.

During July, the restaurant in the Upper Monroe neighborhood is offering a dine-in special of 15 percent off your entire bill.
