The dog was dumped in an unlocked van and police say it has no connection to the vehicle owner

A MALNOURISHED dog was dumped in an unlocked van by its owner who sped off after abandoning the pooch.

The 'lean' dog was discovered curled up in a parked van in South Alloa on Sunday morning.

The animal welfare charity were called out by a woman who saw a car pulling up to her home in Clackmannashire before making off back down the road.

The dog was found on the driver's seat of her husband's van, which was sitting unlocked in their driveway on Kersie Terrace.

Scottish SPCA Inspector Louise Seddon said: “The caller saw a car drive down her lane, turn around and stop by her husband’s van before driving off and abandoning the dog.

“The male dog has a great temperament, however he was slightly lean. He is currently in the care of our centre in Lanarkshire where he has been named Kenny.
