OWENTON, Ky. — Broadlinc is participating in the Federal Communications Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), previously known as the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program. The $14 billion ACP is a broadband subsidy program for low-income households that Congress established in the recent Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill as a permanent successor to the COVID-19-focused Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBBP).
“We participated in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, and we saw hundreds of families who needed it receive this valuable benefit,” said TJ Scott, vice president of operations.
Broadlinc will continue to provide discounted broadband services to financially struggling households through the ACP, and help close the digital gap in the state of Kentucky. The ACP provides qualifying residents a $30/month credit on their Broadlinc broadband services. Existing households fully enrolled in EBB as of December 31, 2021 will continue to receive their current monthly benefit until March 1, 2022.
Residents will also have new ways to qualify for ACP such as having an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Learn more at acpbenefit.org.
