KENNETT, MO (KFVS) - A Caruthersville, Missouri woman has been arrested after police in Kennett said she left three children unattended in a vehicle.

Officers with the Kennett Police Department said they arrested 27-year-old Diana Truss for three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree. Truss was also arrested on two active State of Missouri warrants issued out of New Madrid County.

Police said they were called at 11:10 a.m. the Wal-Mart Supercenter on First Street.

They found the vehicle running in the parking lot with three children, ages 1, 4, and 7, inside. Officers said they found the children's mother inside the store. She had been inside for several minutes.

Truss was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants as well as placed on a twenty-four-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor's office.
