The internet giant Google on Sunday is celebrating legendary Indian film actor Raj Kapoor's 90th birthday by dedicating a doodle.

NEW DELHI: The internet giant Google on Sunday is celebrating legendary Indian film actor Raj Kapoor's 90th birthday by dedicating a doodle. ​The doodle shows Bollywood's 'Show Man' in his avatar from 1951 classic 'Awara', carrying a Google placard on his shoulder.
Donning a hat, jacket and a shirt inside, the the Google homepage shows Raj Kapoor in his most iconic role as Raj in "Shree 420" (1955).
His fans will instantly connect with the background of the doodle that depicts the movie's popular song "Pyar hua iqrar hua', which features the legend standing under an umbrella with co-star Nargis.

Born on December 14, 1924 Raj kapoor was the winner of two National Fiim Awards and nine Filmfare awards. Known as Showman, the legendary actor is mostly remembered for his role in the movies like Shree 420, Awara, Mera Naam Joker, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai and many others.
Raj Kapoor was always considered by the film critics as a different type of filmmaker who dared to fish in the waters where his contemporaries feared to venture out. He always used to think ahead of time the testimony for which are his landmark movies like 'Prem Rog', 'Shree 420', 'Kal Aaj Aur Kal' 'Satyam Shivan Sundaram', 'Kal Aaj Aur Kal' and 'Mera Naam Joker'. He was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the late 1980s.
The year 1988 saw the demise of India's one of the greatest filmmakers when Raj Kapoor died at the age of 63 due to asthma related complications.
