Oh, Colorful Colorado. You jam-band junkie, bluegrass-bellowing and electronic-encrusted beautiful mess.

Summer means outdoors. Those who prefer to be climbing Colorado, well, bon voyage, pals. But for those who prefer their outdoors to be soaked in beer, scented in cannabis and resonating with beats, it’s your time to shine.

Colorado packs its summers with concerts, festivals and music series — there’s hardly a void in the live music lineup. From jazz festivals, to punk-rock parties and intimate concerts to stadium blowouts, there’s something for everybody this summer. Plus, there’s a whole ton of local talent lined up for various series, so support the local bands, eat the local food, buy the local goods and drink the local booze. Most events are family-friendly and free to attend. Nearly all have beer, wine and spirits for purchase, and many allow outside food for picnics, so there’s no breaking the bank — just rolling around in the summer grass and basking in high-altitude sun like a happy puppy.

Here’s a selection of Front Range summer music in 2018.
