West Virginia man arrested with marijuana and $2,000 in cash: Seven Hills Police Blotter

SEVEN HILLS, Ohio -- Drug abuse, Pleasant Valley Road: On Aug. 30, police observed a car without rear license plate illumination on Pleasant Valley Road.

While talking to the Parma Heights driver, the officer smelled marijuana. When asked about the odor, the  West Virginia passenger admitted to having hashish in the car.

He also told the officer that he had about $2,000 in cash and was in town to attend a music festival. The passenger also produced a pipe and admitted that there might be more marijuana in the car.

During a search of the vehicle, police found $2,108 inside of a Crown Royal bag located in the center console, as well as a jar of marijuana, a butane torch, a grinder and another pipe.

The passenger was arrested for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and not having rear license plate illumination.

Burglary, Pleasant Valley Road: On Sept. 9, police were dispatched to a Pleasant Valley Road residence regarding a burglary report.

When the resident returned home that day, he found $80 in cash missing from his dresser and papers thrown all over the house. The man told the officer that he believed the burglar stepped on a recycling container to enter an unlocked window.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
