HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- If you're a horror fan and want to see Fox TV's upcoming buzzed-about show "Sleepy Hollow" before it airs, here's how:
Vote for Huntsville at demandsleepyhollow.com to help give the Rocket City a shot at being one of three cities to host an advance screening of "Sleepy Hollow," which premieres locally 8 p.m. Sept. 16 on affiliate WZDX-TV Channel 54.
Polling ends 3 p.m. Aug. 19. And it's a thick heat. The website lists over 1,200 cities you can vote from, from Hazard, Ky. to Cleveland to Corpus Christi, Texas to Honolulu, Hawaii to Washington.
As of posting of this story, the top three in the "Demand It!" voting are, in descending order, New York, Los Angeles and Wilmington, N.C. - the latter city is where the "Sleepy Hollow" pilot was filmed. Huntsville is currently 77 in the voting.
"Sleepy Hollow" expands on the Washing Irving ("Rip Van Winkle") short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," bringing a modern storyline to the familiar, haunting tale of Ichabod Crane, played by English theatre actor Tom Mison, and the Headless Horseman.
The show's co-creators and co-writers include Alan Kurtzman, whose previous credits include the "Star Trek" reboot film and 2013 sequel "Into Darkness," "Watchmen" and "Mission: Impossible III," as well as TV efforts such as "Alias" and "
