Spanish-Language Show "Bienvenidos" Premiers On Arundel TV

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – This month, Anne Arundel County Community Television premiered a new Spanish-language show called Bienvenidos that highlights people, issues and events in the Latino community.

“County government is making great progress in reaching out to everyone in the community, including those from different cultures and backgrounds,” said County Executive Steve Schuh. “Spanish language programming will help encourage participation in civic life by speaking to our growing and thriving Latino community directly.”

The program will be produced monthly and broadcast via the County’s social media and cable channels. You can find Anne Arundel Community Television, also known as Arundel TV, on Verizon channel 1962, Comcast channel 998, and Broadstripe channel 498 in high definition. You can also watch the programming live online.

Bienvenidos is produced by Maria Casasco, Latino and Immigrant Relations Officer. Casasco co-hosts the show with Sergio Polanco, Executive Director of Centro de Ayuda, and Carlos Camino, Bilingual Health Director at the County’s Department of Health.

“Latinos are proud Americans, but they have no access to localized news and content in their native language,” Casasco said. “We hope this program will make our Latino population more informed about what is going on in the community and county government.”
