Arizona Cardinals sign four players after rookie mini-camp

May 14, 2018, 2:00 PM | Updated: 2:40 pm

The Arizona Cardinals signed four players to contracts after they participated in rookie mini-camp over the weekend.

They added rookie wide receiver C.J. Duncan, rookie linebacker Airius Moore, defensive tackle Siupeli Anau and offensive lineman Greg Pyke.

The Cardinals released cornerback Elijah Battle, linebacker Mike Needham, offensive lineman Austin Olsen and wide receiver Jonah Trinnaman to make room for the players.

Duncan posted a photo of himself signing with the Cardinals in their facility on Instagram on Sunday.

Duncan had 52 receptions for 517 yards and five touchdowns for Vanderbilt in 2017. He also served as the kick returner.

At pro day, Duncan ran a 4.48 40-yard dash and had a 36-inch vertical lead.

Arizona is looking for help at both receiver and returner. The team lost wide receivers John Brown and Jaron Brown during free agency and ranked near the bottom of the league in kick and punt return yards in 2017.

The Cardinals also signed a rookie linebacker.

Moore, who started 43 games at North Carolina State, amassed 267 tackles, 26 for loss, during his collegiate career.

He had three interceptions, all during his senior year, which was tied for a team-high in 2017.

Moore had a 4.75 40-yard dash and jumped 32 inches in the vertical at pro day.

After releasing Anau last week, the Cardinals invited him to participate in the mini-camp. Anau was on the practice squad last season.

He is a Phoenix native who graduated from Horizon High School and played football at Northern Arizona.

Anau earned FCS All-American and first-team All-Big Sky honors as a senior in 2016, totaling 55 tackles, a conference-high 8.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss.

He also forced three fumbles and blocked a kick.

Finally, the Cardinals signed Pyke, an offensive lineman who signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2017 as an undrafted rookie, but was released after training camp.

Pyke played at Georgia, starting 49 games and tackle and guard.

His NFL Draft profile slotted him to be a prospect at guard.
