The first steel beams for a shelter to protect one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s most famous works have been put in place. A box frame will be erected around Hill House in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, and a fine perforated mesh will be added to keep off the rain and allow it dry before more conservation work can be carried out.
