The Iowa Mission of Mercy dental clinic is being held in Des Moines this year.
The two-day clinic will allow people to get cleanings, fillings, and extractions at no charge.
Each year organizers select a different city to host the event. Last year, it was held in Davenport. Previous Mission of Mercy clinics have been held in Waterloo, Newton, Cedar Rapids, and Sioux City.
The Des Moines clinic will be held October 18th and 19th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in the Varied Industries Building.
It’ll take over 1,000 volunteers and dental professional to treat patients. Iowans are served on a first come, first serve basis.
Since the program began in 2008, it’s provided over $4.5 million in free dental care to nearly 7,000 patients.
