AMHERST -- Shoplifting incidents involving items ranging from Old Spice deodorant to a rotisserie chicken have led to charges against a Shutesbury woman in one case and a search for suspects in two others.

The 25-year-old woman is accused of trying to steal a Super Bird rotisserie chicken, a garden salad and a half gallon of milk from the University Drive Big Y Friday night.

The woman left the items behind when staff confronted her, according to the police report.

She will be summoned to court to face a shoplifting charge, according to police.

Officers are also investigating the theft of $63.56 in Red Bull from Big Y Friday. Police reported that a white male allegedly took the items and drove off with a white female in a Ford Focus wagon with New Hampshire plates.

Police are also looking into the theft of $90 worth of Old Spice Deodorant from the downtown CVS Sunday morning. The suspect, described as tall white male in his 30s, allegedly ran from the rear of the North Pleasant Street store, toward the Jones Library.
