The Phoenix Suns have been linked to several point guards in recent NBA mock draft projections for the 2020 NBA draft.

Right now, one of them is a very trendy pick for the organization with the team's first-round selection.

Killian Hayes, a point guard who has played overseas, is currently the Suns' pick in many of the most recent NBA draft projections.

Bleacher Report wrote that Hayes, who recently declared for the draft, would be a "solid fit" with the Suns.

Joe Tansey wrote: "Hayes increased most of his totals during his first season with German side Ulm. The 18-year-old averaged 12.8 points, 6.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in EuroCup competition. Hayes was born in the United States but spent most of his childhood in France and has racked up plenty of accolades on the international circuit. He won Most Valuable Player honors in the French U-18 league and the Jordan Brand Classic international game. Hayes declared for the draft Friday, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony. He will be in competition with North Carolina's Cole Anthony and Iowa State's Tyrese Haliburton to be the third guard taken behind Ball and Edwards.Where Hayes lands is a mystery because teams could be more intrigued by frontcourt stars Obi Toppin and James Wiseman, which would drop him down to the back part of the top 10.The Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns would both be solid fits for Hayes' playmaking ability. Each franchise would pick somewhere between No. 8 and No. 10 based off the NBA standings."

Several sites have raved about Hayes' potential.

CBS Sports recently moved him from No. 10 to No. 3 on its 2020 NBA draft Big Board, which is a list ranking players in the upcoming draft.

Kyle Boone wrote: "Hayes makes a leap all the way up to No. 3 on my Big Board on pure upside. He won't turn 19 until this summer -- just a week before Anthony Edwards, who once reclassified and will be among the youngest prospects in this class -- and he's still just scratching the surface in terms of what he can develop into long-term. Meanwhile, the here and now has been really, really good. Hayes has added a stepback to his diverse offensive package, cleaned up his floater a bit and has been able to overcome his lack of explosiveness with ridiculous savvy as a playmaker. He's not in LaMelo Ball's tier as a passer, but it's an area he's improved in despite being turnover prone. Even in a deep class for point guards, I think Hayes should be considered among the best. "

Here are some recent NBA mock drafts that have Phoenix going with Hayes in the first round.

Would Killian Hayes be a great fit on the Phoenix Suns?

247 Sports: Suns pick French point guard Killian Hayes at No. 10

Sam Marsdale writes: "At 6-foot-5, Hayes does a lot of things as a point guard. He shot 39 percent from 3, 90.9 percent from the free throw line and averaged 12.8 points and 6.2 assists 26.8 minutes per game this season."

Bleacher Report: Suns go with Killian Hayes at No. 10

Jonathan Wasserman writes: "Killian Hayes figures to draw looks as high as No. 4 or No. 5. The debate about whether to draft him that early questions whether he's a star NBA point guard or just a strong playmaker. The difference could be determined by his shooting development, arguably the draft's biggest swing skill for one individual prospect. In both Eurocup and the German BBL, he shot over 45 percent from the floor and averaged at least five assists. Hayes strengthened his NBA case this year by improving his floater, finishing package and perimeter shot-creation while continuing to build on his standout passing game. He did finish at just 29.4 percent from three, the worry for teams in the top 10. An optimist would point to his age (18), 30 made threes (up from 14) and 87.6 percent free-throw mark."

Yahoo Sports: Suns land Killian Hayes at No. 12

Krysten Peek writes: "Born in Florida, Hayes has spent most of his life in France. His dad played professionally overseas and has helped guide Hayes’ development through the professional league in Germany. Hayes has a strong downhill game and is extremely quick for his size."

But Hayes isn't the only player linked to the Suns in recent projections for the draft.

Here are some other recent NBA draft picks for Phoenix.

Nbadraft.net: Suns land Arizona guard Nico Mannion at No. 10

CBS Sports: Suns take Auburn small forward Isaac Okoro at No. 10

Gary Parrish writes: "Okoro was merely a borderline top-40 prospect coming out of high school but quickly emerged as one of college basketball's best freshmen. He averaged 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds for an Auburn team that started 15-0 and finished 24-4 with Okoro in the lineup. His athleticism and ability to shutdown opposing wings thanks to unusually great defensive instincts for an 18 year-old are his best attributes. A franchise looking for a high-upside player who impacts winning should make him a top-10 pick."

Tankathon: Suns go with North Carolina point guard Cole Anthony at No. 10

NBA Draft Room: Suns select Iowa State point guard Tyrese Haliburton at No. 10

It writes: "Tyrese fractured his left wrist and is out for the season. His draft stock may take a small hit but he's already proven his worth and shouldn't fall too far."

The Athletic: Suns choose Kentucky guard Tyrese Maxey at No. 10

Sam Vecenie writes: "There are some real positives, though, if you buy the shooting turning around (most teams do think he’ll be a shooter at some point). His in-between game is terrific, as he possesses a killer floater package and repertoire. Defensively, he’s a monster on-ball due to the fact that he’s tenacious and built like a free safety. Plus, he’s also known to be a terrific kid who is hyper intelligent, a hard worker and a great locker room presence. The Suns could use an interesting third option at the guard position who could play with both Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio. Maxey fits that billing perfectly."

The NBA draft is currently scheduled for June 20, but there has been talk that it could be moved because of the coronavirus pandemic.

No matter when it is held, the Suns face an important decision for the future as their pick could help elevate the future of the franchise.

Could Killian Hayes be that pick?
