One man has been arrested after police say he took part in stealing multiple air compressors and vacuums from Corbin car washes.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department arrested David Lee Anderson Thursday on seven charges, including with fleeing and evading police and criminal mischief.

Deputies say they observed Anderson driving a vehicle matching the make and model of one suspected in the recent string of thefts and attempted to stop him. When police engaged their emergency lights, they say Anderson parked his car on Paynes Branch Road in a manner allowing Anderson’s brother, Gary Anderson, to flee on foot.

When apprehended, Anderson told police his brother and he stole the air compressors and vacuums from local gas stations and car washes to pay for gas money.
