LAQUEY, Mo- A man has been charged for shooting a 44-year-old man Sunday morning in Laquey.



Vincent Sansone has been charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action. According to a probable causes statement from the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Sansone shot 44-year-old Richard O’Coyne in the left hip.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened when a dispute between two men broke out Sunday morning around 6 a.m. at the 28000 block of Highway NN in Laquey. The Sheriff’s Department was not called for almost two hours after the incident occurred.

The Sheriff’s Department was called when the suspect and a witness attempted to render first aid to the victim.

According to the release, when first responders and deputies got there they found the victim lying inside the home.

The victim was then flown to a trauma center where he now is listed in critical condition.

Deputies were able to arrest the suspected shooter shortly before 9 a.m. The shooter is being held in the Pulaski County Jail while investigators, are awaiting for an arrest warrant to be issued.
