1Young Eagles Flight Rally: Kids can have a seat in the cockpit with a licensed pilot Saturday in this free program to introduce ages 8 to 17 to the world of aviation. Volunteer pilots will take children on a 15-minute flight over Clearwater. Each young "pilot" will get one-on-one time with aviators to learn how airplanes work and will be awarded a Young Eagle certificate on completion of the program. 2Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade: Up to 50 wildly decorated boats will parade down the Pithlachascotee River Saturday afternoon for this annual celebration. This year, boats will be decorated in green themes, from St. Patrick's Day to recycling, golf or Kermit the Frog. Prizes range from $200 to $1,000. To protect the wildlife, no water balloons, beads or other thrown objects are permitted. 3Spring Break Waterfront Festival: To kick off spring break for Pinellas County school kids, there will be a four-day family festival of carnival rides, entertainment, craft vendors and food at Madeira Beach's ROC (Remember Our Children) Park. Live music daily. It runs 3-11 p.m. Thursday and noon-11 p.m. Friday-Sunday at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach. Free admission, ride wristbands run $17-$20.
4Cat Cora: The USF University Lecture Series on Tuesday brings a free talk from Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef. She's no stranger to the campus, having recently opened Olilo, a healthy Mediterranean dining concept in the Juniper-Poplar residence hall. 8 p.m. Tuesday. 5Comic Con at Clearwater Library: The entire family is invited to dress up as favorite characters, visit vendor booths and play video and board games at this free fan festival at the main library.
