Bradford City have launched a bid for Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Taylor, HITC Sport understands.

Bradford boss Stuart McCall is looking to bolster his attacking options during this month’s transfer window and he has targeted a move for Taylor.

Taylor has impressed in recent weeks for Plymouth, since recovering from the broken ankle he sustained on the opening day of the season against Peterborough United.

The 29-year-old returned to action in December and he has chipped in with two goals and four assists for Plymouth in eight games in League One.

Stuart McCall manager of Bradford City looks on during the Sky Bet League One match between Sheffield United and Bradford City at Bramall Lane on April 17, 2017 in Sheffield, England.

Taylor’s return to action has coincided with Plymouth’s improved form, as they have climbed away from trouble at the wrong end of the table.

Taylor, who joined Plymouth last January from Oxford United, is out of contract this summer and no new deal has been agreed as yet.

Bradford are hoping to persuade Plymouth to cash in on Taylor this month rather than risk allowing him to run down his contract, and they hope to lure the striker back to his native Yorkshire after starting his career at Rotherham.

Bradford see Taylor as someone who can boost their promotion bid, while Plymouth are determined to keep hold of him as they look to avoid getting involved in a relegation battle.
