'Real Housewives' star Kathy Wakile sells Wayne home for near asking

Franklin Lakes, here they come. "Real Houseswives of New Jersey" stars Kathy and Rich Wakile have found a buyer for their Wayne home.

The couple put their four-bedroom Colonial on the market in October for $799,900, and the house went into contract within a month, their real estate agent Jeff Vander Molen of Terrie O'Connor Realtors tells NJ Advance Media. He would not disclose the sale price, but said it was near the full asking price. The new buyers are expected to close on the home in January.

The Wakiles purchased the Wayne house in 1995 for $340,000. Taxes are $17,710 a year.

The couple spent $675,000 for an empty one-acre lot in Franklin Lakes in 2013 and had their new home custom-built.

After three seasons on the show, Kathy Wakile, who is also a cookbook author and cannoli entrepreneur, was sidelined to "friend of Housewives" status for "RHONJ"'s sixth season. Bravo has not yet announced a seventh season of the Jersey franchise, although there have been reports that they have already cast some new faces, in addition to original star Teresa Giudice, who is expected to be released from federal prison next week, and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga.
